Global Switch Data Centre

Global Switch Amsterdam is located in the Slotervaart/ Overtoomseveld district, adjacent to the main Dutch cable infrastructure. This world-class data centre offers bespoke solutions in the Netherlands, from single rack deployments through to multi-megawatt bespoke solutions. We were appointed to carry out some power infrastructure studies and surveys to assess the design of their current electrical system.

Our Services and Solutions:

  • A detailed protection and discrimination study for the 50kV/ 10kV/ LV distribution systems (21MW). The study included UPS and DRUPS protection schemes

  • Short circuit power flow reviews, relay specification and voltage installations

  • The integration of 2 x 5MWe 10kV generators with existing generators for the data centre

  • Analysis of the generator cause and effect, the consequences to protection, the need for additional directional protection and preventative measures for under-voltage relay tripping
